Creating Your Own Luck in Business

Do you ever wonder what it takes to be successful in business? Do you think that the Luck of the Irish could help you get ahead? There is definitely could be an element of luck to being successful in business, as there are many pieces of the puzzle that need to fall together properly, but generally speaking, you can create most of your own luck!

Here are our 5 Luckiest Tips to Being Successful in Business:

1. Be Authentic

Be who you truly are. When it comes to your personal and public brand / persona, it will be very difficult to be someone you’re not, for the next 20 or 30 years. Be who you are and own it. People can always see through those individuals who haven’t claimed their personal power and developed their outward self from their innermost authenticity. Be real, be you and never apologize for that.

2. Put Yourself Out There and Meet New People

Attend community events, get involved with hobbies that you like and create space to meet new people. I would say go to networking events, but we know those have a bad wrap. But still, many people find much success at these events, and if you have friends or colleagues who are part of a great group, get yourself an invitation and see what it’s all about. You might actually enjoy it!

3. Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

What scares you? Like really makes you sweat? Do it. Plan a community event and invite your whole town to a health seminar that your team is running. Rent a hall and advertise it everywhere you can. Create local partnerships and invite them to attend as a mini tradeshow during the breaks and before/after your seminar. Have your patients bring their friends and family and help you advertise it at their workplaces. Discuss the most pressing issues on health and wellness today and educate your community. Book new patient exams on the spot, as they now understand the principle of chiropractic and are the hottest leads ever! Or do something else that scares you that is unrelated to your profession. Step out of your day to day routine and get uncomfortable!

4. Invest in Your Personal and Professional Growth

Yes, you’ve been out of school for years, but what are you doing to keep learning? Whether it is a weekend away at a meditation retreat, raw cooking workshop, yoga intensive or adjusting seminar, do things often that allow you to grow and develop as a person and a chiropractor. Your spouse, family, team and patients deserve the best you possible, so devote time to yourself and your own development.

5. Spend time in Meditation, Visualizing and Goal Setting

How will you know if you were ‘lucky’ (ie successful) if you haven’t laid out a plan to create your success… or identify it? What does success mean for you and what are the steps you are going to take to realize it? How is this year going to be different than last year? What are your commitments and how will you follow through? Spending time visualizing your path and meditating to clear the way are excellent ways to create the changes you’d like to see in your life.

Bonus – 6. Have Fun!!

When is the last time you went out, kicked up your heels and had fun? Find something you love to do and do it often. Whatever that is for you ~ dancing, yoga, hockey, soccer, painting, arts and crafts, karaoke, going to the movies ~ give yourself the freedom to enjoy it more often. As hard as we work, it is so important to give ourselves time to relax and enjoy our lives. Have fun!!
